Welcome to Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show 2012, sponsored by Citylets! Since it's conception eleven years ago, ECFS has raised over a quarter of a million pounds for charities throughout the United Kingdom making us the most successful student run fashion show in Europe. The ECFS 2012 committee is working tirelessly to make this year's show one to remember and we are confident that through our hard work and your continued support that we can make ECFS 2012 the best year yet.
ECFS 2012's campaign reflects on the current global situation. As Karl Lagerfield has said "Very often in difficult times fashion is more interesting than in times when everything is too cool, too safe." With this in mind, ECFS 2012 aims to celebrate fashion and the arts at a time when it is most important. We hope to emulate this in everything that we do this year, from photo shoots, fashion choices, totable decorations. Further we are hoping to expand our brand and tap into the wealth of creativity in Edinburgh by introducing our first ever online magazine, "Strands." We hope this will provide our audience with interesting interviews, reviews, and information about our charity and show.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we are supporting the Children's Hospice of Scotland (CHAS). CHAS supports over 250 families who have children with life-shortening conditions in their hospice facilities in Kinross and in Balloch. They provide these families with essential services such as offering short planned breaks, emergency support, end of life care and a range of bereavement services. CHAS provides incredibly necessary support to families and we are thrilled to be supporting such a fantastic charity. With this in mind, we are excited that the money we raise this year will provide many opportunities for CHAS to maintain and expand their services.
We are very excited for the next few months and are working hard to put out our magazine, plan a fantastic launch party and start finalizing details for the show in March!
Thank you so much for your support,
Sincerely,
Caroline Welles - Chairwoman
Grant Goulding - Vice Chair
CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
CHAS offers care for the whole family in our two children's hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin Housein Balloch. We also run a homecare service called CHAS at Home helping families in their own homes across Scotland when they need it most.
CHAS is currently supporting over 250 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support.
CHAS' services are funded mainly through the generosity of our many supporters who help us to raise over £7 million needed each year to provide these hospice services. ECFS 2012 is proud to be supporting such an incredible charity and thrilled to be able to help to continue to support the hundreds of children and families throughout scotland.
